Tamu Muhibbah market in Miri, Sarawak

Tamu Muhibbah is the central tamu in Miri, on Jalan Padang next to the Miri Council Field and across from the central bus station. A tamu is a traditional Sarawak market where farmers and forest-product sellers trade directly. Look for fresh seafood, fruit, vegetables, jungle ferns such as midin and paku, terung Iban, Bario rice, Bario salt, Sarawak pepper, honey and cencaluk. Some stalls sell wild meats, and others sell rattan products and wooden carvings. A separate food section is where locals take breakfast: kolo mee, Sarawak laksa, grilled fish and pulut panggang, with milo peng and coffee peng. Opening days and hours are not given in the source I used; a 2020 news item set Miri tamu and market hours at 7am to 2pm, so go in the morning.
