Baraholka is not one market but a string of them along the Severnoye Koltso highway: Adem, Baisat, Yalyan, Alatau, Arlan, Kenzhekhan and more. Each has its own speciality, from clothing, shoes and Turkish imports to fabrics, carpets, chandeliers, children's goods and car parts.

The markets are open Tuesday to Sunday, about 08:00 to 18:00, and the best shopping window is 09:00 to 16:00. Hours were last reported in 2022, so check before a long trip.

Tips: Pick one or two markets rather than all of them, bring cash, wear comfortable shoes and keep your bag in view. Plan on a full day. Coordinates are approximate.
