Jiufen Old Street is a narrow, winding alley in Jiufen, a former gold-mining town in Ruifang District. Shops, teahouses and restaurants line the lane, and the town has been a tourist draw since the early 1990s.
Snack stalls sell local favourites such as peanut ice cream rolls, and many teahouses look out over the hills towards the sea. The lane is steep and narrow and gets crowded at weekends.
Getting there: Take a bus from Ruifang Station on the Taiwan Railway Yilan Line, about 15 minutes away. Hours differ by shop, so check locally.
