Kashgar's Sunday Market is a long-standing Silk Road trading market. It is open every day but Sunday is by far the biggest, described as the largest market in Central Asia, with attendance reported at around 100,000 at peak hours. Farmers sell fruit and vegetables, ranchers show off animals and horses, and artisans sell handmade knives, pans, teapots and jewellery boxes, alongside carpets, clothing and spices.
