Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market
A relaxed, local-favourite floating market in Bangkok's Taling Chan district, open weekends, known for boat noodles, grilled river prawns and canal boat rides.
Khlong Lat Mayom is one of Bangkok's most relaxed and local-feeling floating markets. Set along the canals of Taling Chan on the Thonburi side of the city, it opened in 2004 and mixes food stalls, small shops and canal-side seating where diners sit at low tables beside the water.
What to expect
It is smaller and calmer than the famous floating markets outside the city, so it is easy to walk from end to end. Vendors sell Thai dishes and desserts, fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, clothes, handicrafts and local products. Short boat rides along the canals are available, and some tours combine the market with nearby Taling Chan and Wat Saphan floating markets.
What to eat
Boat noodles and grilled river prawns are the classic orders, followed by Thai desserts and fresh fruit eaten right by the water.
