Sanhe Night Market runs along Zhongyang North Road in Sanchong District, New Taipei, close to Taipei Bridge MRT Station (about a two-minute walk). The lane is roughly 800 metres long and doubles as the Sanchong Zhongyang public retail market by day. It is open every day, about 5 PM to midnight.

What to eat: grilled squid and meat skewers, fried pork ribs (Wu's Pork Ribs, which draws a queue), handmade soup dumplings, fresh pork wontons, brown sugar shaved ice with red bean tangyuan, peanut roll ice cream, satay lamb and oyster omelets.

Tips: Bring cash, go on a weekday for shorter queues, and note that individual stalls keep their own hours. The map pin is approximate.
