Sanxia Old Street
A Japanese-era street of baroque shopfronts, known for ox horn bread, ceramics and indigo-dyed crafts, near Zushi Temple.
Sanxia Old Street was built during Japanese rule and keeps its baroque-style architecture. Shops sell art, ceramics and local foods, especially the ox horn croissants (ox horn bread).
Sanxia was a major indigo-dyeing centre in northern Taiwan, and the town holds an Indigo Blue Dye Festival. Zushi Temple, built in 1769, is a short walk away and is considered one of Taiwan's most intricately carved temples.
