Skuon sits where National Highway 6 meets Highway 7, about 75 km north of Phnom Penh, and long-distance buses stop here. The town is known for its fried spiders, locally called a-ping, which vendors pile on trays beside the road.

The spiders are fried with garlic and salt. Locals say the legs are crunchy and the body soft, and most visitors try one for the story. Stalls nearby also sell fruit, sticky rice in bamboo and other snacks for the road.

Good to know: The stalls cluster around the bus stop and are busiest when buses arrive. Hours are not fixed, so check locally. Agree a price before you buy.
