Ta Hien Street (Bia Hoi Corner)
A short Old Quarter alley that fills at sunset with fresh bia hoi beer, street snacks and crowds, busiest at the Luong Ngoc Quyen corner.
Ta Hien is a short, narrow street in Hanoi's Old Quarter, a few minutes' walk from Hoan Kiem Lake. The 'Bia Hoi Corner' is where it meets Luong Ngoc Quyen Street. Bia hoi is fresh, unpasteurised draught beer brewed daily, about 3% alcohol, served from steel kegs; the traditional price is around 10,000 VND, though busy spots often charge 15,000 to 25,000 VND. By day the street is calm and most bars are shut until late afternoon. From sunset it is the busiest, with music, crowds and grilled snacks from street stalls, and weekends are especially touristy.
