Marugamemachi Shopping Street, Takamatsu

Marugamemachi runs about 470 metres through the centre of Takamatsu. It dates to 1588, when the castle lord moved merchants here from Marugame while building Takamatsu Castle. It was redeveloped from 1990 and now has several connected blocks, with the Maedocho Dome Plaza and Keyaki Plaza at either end hosting events, mainly on weekends and public holidays. Hours vary by shop. It is about a 10-minute walk from JR Takamatsu Station.
