Zainab Market (Karachi)
Karachi's bargain bazaar near Saddar for export-surplus clothing, Sindhi embroidery and souvenirs.
Zainab Market is a dense cluster of shops and arcades in Karachi's Saddar district, set up in the 1970s. A 2017 Profit report counts about 6,000 shops and vendors, in about ten small malls and arcades, and says it sells mostly export-surplus and slightly flawed clothing at low prices, plus Western-style items. Handicrafts such as Sindhi embroidery and marble pieces are sold to foreign visitors as souvenirs, and bargaining is common.
It draws bulk buyers as well as local shoppers. A world travel guide lists Zainab Market as known for souvenirs. Opening hours were not given in my sources, so check locally. Go in the morning, carry cash and expect to haggle.
