Hong Lim Market and Food Centre
A big Chinatown-edge hawker centre above a wet market, known for char kway teow, prawn mee, laksa and wanton noodles.
Hong Lim stands near Chinatown MRT with a wet market on the ground level and hawker stalls on the upper floor. It is a lunch-time favourite for office workers.
Stalls include Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee, Famous Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa, Ji Ji Wanton Noodle Specialist, Tai Wah Pork Noodle and Hokkien Street Bak Kut Teh. Most stalls keep daytime hours and some close one or two days a week, with only a few open in the evening, so check before you go.
Good to know: Go before noon on weekdays to avoid long queues.
